We've been having a security alarm go off at the library. The alarm code reads as Zone 8. The other night it went off twice. After it was done, the Assistant Director went to check the security panel, yup, Zone 8. Shortly thereafter, as she was discussing this with us... she told us that we do not have a Zone 8.
This isn't the first time Zone 8 has shown up on the security panel. Then the phone rings, it happens to be ADT - "Our system is showing an alarm sounding in Zone 8." I tell them, "Just one minute, please, I will get the Assistant Director on the line." She explains to ADT that we do not have a Zone 8 and that this isn't the first time that our security panel has read "Zone 8". They say that they will send someone out.
We discuss it further and decide that it's the ghostie setting off the alarm for a zone that does not exist. A portal to another realm? - we joke. Since our girl in the pink dress had her picture taken, I do believe that this will make the third time that the alarm has gone off for Zone 8. It is always declared as a 'communication error'. A communication error? No kidding?!
What was really funny/strange, and what made me decide to blog about this past Monday night was that shortly after the alarm went off, the elevator came down from the second floor and the door opened. I jokingly said, "Well, hello Ghostie. Come on down and get a book then, if that's what you wanted." My co-worker just laughed at me and we went back to our books. However, the joke was on us when the door closed and the elevator went back up to the second floor! I said, "I guess Ghostie wasn't coming down, but was going up." We just laughed it off.
I have to wonder though... who was laughing at whom?
